Heathen Christianity is not a rejection of Jesus. It is a Christianity that re-embraces myth, dream, and encounters with the Sacred in the wilderness. We could be called Mythic Christianity or Wild Christianity. We embrace the Heathen label because it captures the wildness and scandal of belief. The Sacred is untamed; God is a mystery that transcends our ability to name or contain. In Jesus, we encounter God in an oppressed person who was tortured and brutally executed by Rome. Even still, life, liberation, and divinity prevailed. These truths guide us.

We are Christians. We follow the Way taught by the anointed liberator Jesus: gathering the outcasts, feeding the hungry, sheltering the dispossessed, welcoming the neighbor, and praying fervently in preparation for the Heavenly Reign.

We are Heathen because we welcome the wisdom found in the heath and wild places. We seek the voices calling from the wilderness. We remember the old songs, dance with the Fae, and follow the Way in wonder. In these wild places, we find meaning that has grown beyond the structures of orthodoxy.

We celebrate whenever we share in the fruits of compassion, mercy, justice, abundant flourishing, and collective liberation.

The Way is wild and free.
