The Chapel of the Open Hearth is an emerging church rooted in Brevard, NC. We gather around fireplaces and campfires. We journey to local waterfalls. We feed and care for our neighbors. Together we celebrate and rest in Abba’s infinite love.
Our chapel is Open and Affirming, and our leadership is queer.
We’re affiliated with the Alliance of Baptists. A movement dedicated to atoning for the sins of systemic oppression that have been perpetuated by many churches.
We follow the Way of Jesus and Liberation while dancing in the wild places, spreading the good news of the Gospels and seeking inspiration from myth, dreams, and suppressed ancient and ancestral sources.
Brigid is the patron of the Open Hearth. She is a source of inspiration across Celtic traditions, bridging Pagan and Christian practices.

We share stories, prayers, reflection, and food.
